Libby said he heard about Plame from Tim Russert, and I'll bet the farm that he did. Unfortunately, Russert has the bully pulpit and the media all side with him. Of course the media never lies.

Libby's loss of freedom will not bother the media one whit, if that is what ultimately happens. They serve a God higher than truth and justice. It is spelled Democrat.

Libby told the grand jury he spoke to Russert about Plame, yet Russert said he did not. Libby told the grand jury he spoke to Russert, Cooper and one other reporter about Plame. Yet, these three reporters said he did not.

Why would an intelligent seasoned lawyer like Libby say he spoke with these three about Plame, when it was still believed Plame was possibly covert? It does not make sense. The only sense that can be made is that Libby talked with the three reporters abut Plame and all three reporters lied to the grand jury because they were not sure Plame was covert and did not want to risk being indicted for outing her.

Apparently, Russert's remembrance of the meeting doesn't jibe with Libby's.

In which case, for reasons of his own, Fitzgerald has chosen to believe Russert and not Libby -- even though a perjury and obstruction case predicated on "He said, she said" is pretty thin prosecutorial gruel.

You're right, this article isn't very clear, but I think that what he is saying is that everyone in the Bush administration admitted that they knew about Wilson and and his wife's recommendation, but Libby, who claimed that he learned it from Russert. Since Libby was not forth coming with the information, he must be the bad leaker, the others, though they were the true source, were only good leakers because they admitted that they were the source. See?
