I called his office last week furious over his comments about the failure of Iraq and his criticism that the President "sugar coated" the war. I let them know I vote. I vote in primaries. I went to a special election a few weeks ago just to vote in a Republican runoff for Agriculture Commissioner. I would under no circumstances vote for McCain if he was planning on running in 2008.
I must not have been the only person to call last week.

I tried calling and all I got was a recorded message that his mailbox was full.

I called his office last week furious over his comments about the failure of Iraq and his criticism that the President "sugar coated" the war. How did he criticize? Everything said was the truth ("Last throes"--Cheney; "Mission Accomplished"--Bush). The Bush-McCain difference is that McCain has been a staunch believer in the Powell doctrine of "overwhelming force" rather than the Bush position of Rumsfeld's "limited presence and coalition". "Limited Presence" isn't working; the Iraqi's still realize there is an occupation led by the U.S. so it makes no sense not to have the largest force possible to do the job--in such a way we could seize and hold such places as Al An bar province (where battle deaths are now occurring), observe more areas for IED implantation, and hold the country more securely until it is prepared to take over--instead, now, we have just enough troops to barely do the job of search and destroy.

(While Clinton isn't fit even to scrape Reagan's shoes, Bush will never fill them!)
