Exactly where were we supposed to PUT this "overwhelming force?" You know that Kuwait is not the place. The state department made sure that we could not come in through Turkey. No, Powell did not want this war. Never mind the Scowcroftian prognatications about a kinder and gentler Saddam once he had been smashed. Seven years afdter the Gulf War even the Clinton Administration had come to the conclusion that he OUGHT to be overthrown.
