C-Span Promotes 9-11 "Truth" (Media Bias Alert)
GOP USA ^ | Aug 28, 2006 | Cliff Kincaid

"Thank God for C-SPAN" is what we used to say about the channel's habit of airing material that the rest of the media usually won't touch. But C-SPAN's airing of a "9/11 Truth" panel has only served to poison the public debate about the nature of the Islamic fascist threat. The panel featured Webster Tarpley, a former member of the Lyndon LaRouche organization, which specializes in blaming the Zionists, Britain and the Queen of England for the world's problems. LaRouche is a former Marxist and Democratic presidential candidate who served prison time on financial fraud charges. He defended Iraq before the first Persian Gulf War.

If this kind of event is considered "news," then we can expect C-SPAN to air panel discussions about extraterrestrials, flying saucers, and alien abductions.

The two-day event, "American Scholars Symposium: 9/11 and The Neo-Con Agenda," was held in Los Angeles and began with host Alex Jones thanking C-SPAN for covering the affair, as participants rose to their feet in a standing ovation for the channel. Several panelists focused on questions or anomalies in how the Twin Towers collapsed. One became almost bug-eyed as he offered 10 reasons to believe that the 9/11 hijackers were "fake."

Even before the airing of this event, there was evidence that a significant number of people were falling victim to the propaganda that the U.S. was itself responsible for 9/11. According to a Scripps News story by Thomas Hargrove and Guido H. Stempel III, who cited a new Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll, "More than a third of the American public suspects that federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East,..."

The actual figures were that 16 percent

If C-SPAN wants to compete with Comedy Central, I can't see the harm in it. :)

Why do we continually ignore the obvious about 9/11:

Rove/Bush/Israel/Neo-cons plotted the deaths of 3,000 Americans by Arab Islamic dupes so they could set up a dictatorship in America and take over the world, starting with Iraq. They take the oil fields for further global domination.

Bush created Osama, funded the 9/11 hijackers, blew up the twin towers... I'm surprised it took 6 years to uncover it all. Even the 9/11 panel lied in their report--they were bought off by Rove. CIA/FBI are all in on it too.

I'm very proud of C-Span for airing these brave people that want to expose this plot and stop Bush and his Neo-con friends.

(One more thing: Halliburton.)

I strongly believe the journalists that have been abducted have been only for the sole purpose of keeping the presstitutes in line! So far the evil religion of pieces terrorists have succeeded!

If you really want to tick off a Lyndon LaRouche supporter...Tell them you think Cheney should be president and that you own stock in Halliburton...They will absolutely foam at the mouth!

I tried to watch CSPAN last week, but for some reason it was replaced with the "All Katrina, all the time" Anniversary Celebration.

Then I tuned in on Sunday for the "Bush is an idiot, Iraq is a failure" booknotes edition pt4.

Just when you thought the kooks were a slight minority of the population, a new poll comes out that proves the tin-foil hat crowd is well and alive.
According to the Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll, more than one-third of Americans suspect federal officials assisted in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East. Thirty-six percent of respondents overall said it is “very likely” or “somewhat likely” that federal officials participated in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon or took no action to stop them because they wanted to go to war in the Middle East.

That puts the conspiracists firmly in a rich if disturbing American tradition: President Roosevelt allowed Pearl Harbor to happen to get us into World War II; President Wilson allowed the Lusitania to be torpedoed to get us into World War I; and the battleship Maine was deliberately blown up in Havana harbor to get us into a war with Spain.

Sounds like the Democratic underground must be a lot larger than I thought. Is this country full of off-their-rocker, five-beers-short-of-a-six-pack morons by hating America?

It would seem that hate and stupidity go hand in hand.

Is the same third of Americans who think Jerry Springer has something to offer by way of entertainment, or Sasquatch, extraterrestrials aboard UFOs, elves and fairies are real.

Sounds like an exit poll conducted after viewing a certain Michael Moore movie. And in other news: One-third of Americans identified themselves as Democrats.

My friend, you forgot the patented "Bush Lied" (tm) statement that is required in all such rants!

I'm afraid you need more training as a liberal.

:-)

I did catch part of a British young man who has written a book on neo-conservatism saying it is the only new political philosophy. He begged his
American audience to not go wobbly on them because" we need you." Pretty sweet.

Years ago when Brian Lamb did an interview claiming he switched policies on his phone lines because of all the "hate" coming from the calls, I laughed out loud and said, "your busted"!

Just another lib media pretender.

I haven't watched since.

To Roses of Sharon:::::
C-"Spin" also used to feature ONLY the top 5 New York Times Best Sellers on their show Book Notes.
C-Spin used this format until ALL 5 BEST SELLERS were consistently Conservative!
Now C-Spin features books more "Diverse" & they have stopped featuring Best Sellers..
I.E. Black Ball Conservatives.

I used to watch the stuff on cspan a lot more before they went to affirmative action telephoning. It seems that liberals complained that most calls from viewers were coming from conservatives.

Can't have that. Now it's one call for each side.

I didn't know that, more fuel for my disdain of Brian Lamb, and his duplicity.

hmmmm... I'm just curious, since YOU bring up "black helicopters", are you not aware that there were and are now black helicopters that US military personnel fly, at night with no markings? So, the term "black helicopter" used for ridicule of strange sightings, in fact exist and are piloted by your govt's trained ops people. Strange that the term is still used as a perjoritive since the stories told were in fact true and the events were put into play by the same gov't that forever denied they existed, and in fact still deny officially that there is a Delta Force and Black Knights...hmmm interesting, no?

Very true, but they don't let the extraterrestrials fly them anymore.
