Steve, I am so sorry to hear about the very wretched painful death of your sister. My prayers are with you in your loss and grief and also with your family. Since this disease is also genetic, I pray it stops with your sister.

Thank you for posting her story. It is a powerful reminder to a person like myself that was blessed to get sober from the beginning of late stage alcoholism at 21. I would not have made it to thirty. Still sober one day at a time at forty, I need the reminder that this is what is in store for me too, if I pick up that bottle again. Bless you.

Thanks for your thoughtful words...and bless you too, Poet. Fortunately, my sister did not have any children, but it is an issue within our family.
