I'm not interested in a theological history lesson. My statement was broad brush in terms of TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT regardless of religion faith held by someone in the DC crowd.

This is the derivation of the word "congress".

Congressus is the past participle of the Latin word congregare to "come together."

Origin: 1350–1400 for earlier sense “body of attendants, following”; 1520–30 for current senses; ME < L congressus assembly, intercourse, meeting, equiv. to congred(?) to approach, meet (con- con- + -gred?, comb. form of grad? to step; cf. grade) + -tus suffix of v. action]
