In my neighborhood,the boys practice cheer-leading,and dress like very pretty girls on Halloween.I'm the only parent along with my children who think that's strange.

I think I was one of the few who regard "Halloween" emphasis on death and gore as unhealthy.Didn't and still don't like all the faker skeletons and skulls,church? and community sponsored horror halls.I believe they trivialuize murder and mayhem. Nothing against Beggar's Night and kids costuming as anything gender approriate and non-gory.

It is up to the adults to set the standards and boundaries;all too many adults appear never to have grwon up .i

While I did move from Pa to Florida in 81, (and it is a real sea change in everything) I still own property in Pa, and in fact, I am vacationing there right now.

Right next to Valley Forge. - I am dismayed at how poorly Pa now stacks up vis a vie most of Florida; how much it has slid to the left.

Still, a boy en fem would be quite an oddity here.
