"Winning Women of The First State Excellence in Public Service Series" announces the application process for the 2007 Class is now underway. Winning Women is a leadership program designed to increase the number of Delaware women involved in political activities, elected offices and key appointive positions at all levels of government.Modeled after the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, which was started in 1990 by a group of Indiana businesswomen, the Delaware Series is the 11th program of its kind in the nation fostering political opportunity for women. The First State Excellence in Public Service Series educates women interested in government and politics in Delaware. It is designed to make a unique network between the active women in the Republican Party and those professional women who seek a greater participation through a life of public service.
