I'll add that at the airport I'm a controller at, KTOL, Comair pilots flying these same CRJ2s are often skiddish about using our runway 16/34, which is 5599 feet long.

As someone who knows nothing about the aviatio industry I must say that I am not comforted to hear that commercial pilots are "skittish" about a particular runway. Why don't they extend the runway or something? Geez.
