ROFL! Very good. I love that - Free Republic Fight Club.
BTW, it just occurred to me - although I don't regularly hear the media refer to Mohammed as the Prophet - it would make sense.
When discussing terrorism, if a reporter just says Mohammed we don't know if he's talking about Mohammed Atta or someone else so it makes sense to distinguish just WHICH Mohammed is being discussed.
Wish the FR Fight Club would post a list of their members! Altho it's not hard to discern lately.
Likewise, when discussing Christianity, they should use the term, "The Savior Jesus", so that people know who they're talking about. (Hey, it only makes sense to distinguish him from "Jesus" the guy at the car wash, or "Jesus" the "Undocumented American" (golly, must be thousands of "Jesus guys" who fit that profile!)
Yeah, I agree -- they should refer to "The Prophet Mohammed", and "The Savior Jesus".
So, when do they start?
(My money's on "never")
Actually, when FNC started reporting on Islamic terrorism in earnest, they used the phrase ALL of the time. I don't have a clue if anyone else wrote to them about it, but I did. A number of times. I haven't heard them use it recently, but then again, I haven't heard them speak of Muhammad at all lately.
