Best as I recall, Jesus left Peter in charge, not Paul. Paul was nothing but a party-crashing, double-dealing, correspondent.

I didn't much care for his letters to Timothy either.
Paul was one of the greatest leaders of the early Christian church. If he was important enough for Jesus to appear to him in person, then he's okay by me! :-)
