I am glad to hear of their release.
I wouldn't care about what they were forced to say on video. This is not the first time terrorists force their victims to say things against their will.
Once again, I think the media is responsible somehow. They should never accept such videos or pictures from kidnappers. If only the media acts responsibly, then such acts could well be prevented. It seems that some so called journalists simply don't care about the fate of their fellow journalists.

I missed a lot of the early stuff--does anyone have the video of them "converting" I'm sure Fox only aired it once and don't plan to air it agaian. I'm sure it will show that they are oviously under duress.

I am still looking for information about exactly what concessions were made by the US government, FOX, and the other negotiators. The propaganda tape was a huge victory and set a precedent. Now, thinking people will view media outlets with a little skepticism. The "news" just might have a slant because of caving to extortion again. Once a certain tactic is successful, it will be used again. Our government, via the President, vowed to never negotiate with terrorists. Now we have negotiated with terrorists. Some will come on and say that it is OK because we did not directly negotiate with terrorists. This was a defining day in the GWOT. Hamas won a decisive battle today. And our media will not even acknowledge how much ransom was paid. Pathetic.

I don't this this is the case. I do not think there were any concessions by our government, maybe by FOXNEWS, but not the U.S. government.

I think this was a propaganda stunt from the start by Hamas. They were out of the news cycle, this 'new' group emerges and kidnaps journalists (guaranteed to get attention), they make crazy demands that will never be met, they make the journals swear to Islam...and they get release by the 'good graces' of the Palestinian authority.

If there was any deal made, it was by Palestine/Hamas. The more I hear, the more I think this was a con job.

Actually, when FNC started reporting on Islamic terrorism in earnest, they used the phrase ALL of the time. I don't have a clue if anyone else wrote to them about it, but I did. A number of times. I haven't heard them use it recently, but then again, I haven't heard them speak of Muhammad at all lately.

I really hate to say this. I've been worried sick about Steve and Olaf, but they just sold their souls to the devil. I couldn't do it. Saw my head of with a butter knife but I'll never forsake my God.

Some people have stronger mental/physical constitutions than others. A conversion at the point of a gun is no conversion. God can divide sinew from soul and knows the heart of every man.
