In Las Vegas the school security carry 9mm with the same ammo/magazines as the local cops. And carry radios, have violence drills, etc.

But then with the gang problems, terrs are a distant second.

i'm guessing in MOST schools (not necessarily hot spot cities) there is little or no security. our security is to lock the doors once the kids are in. hmpf. we had hall monitors for a while, who were supposed to be some sort of eyes and ears in the hall, but they ended up screaming at the kids who were late to class and drinking coffee in the break room, and ultimately were fired for lack of funds.

people walk around in our school and no one even asks who they are.
