This one is going down to the wire. I hope that Talent will pull it out.

If Talent and Dewine both lose, in "middle American" states, the GOP is in real trouble, even if they manage to eke out a majority in the Senate.

Talent is a good decent guy. The difference will be how much vote fraud there will be in St Louis and Kansas City. She is really an undistinguished political hack who has a lot of sleazy questions about her. I hope she loses.

McCaskill is not going to win. She does not have a good family-values reputation here in Missouri. She is for every extreme liberal issue - gay marriage, partial-birth abortion, etc.

I'm in Cape Girardeau this week, and I have seen many Talent bumper stickers. Judging from the number of stickers one would conclude that Talent is doing very well indeed. Now, I understand that this is Limbaugh country, but, nevertheless I have seen only two McRoadkill stickers paraded around by a couple of mutant moonbats. I think Talent will win this area handily.

Yes.

In 2000, John Ashcroft was defeated by then-Governor Mel Carnahan, who was killed in an airplane crash three weeks before Election Day. The Lt. Governor, Democrat Roger Wilson, appointed Jean Carnahan (Mel's widow) to fill the seat. In 2002, Jim Talent won the special election which was held to fill the balance of the deceased/widowed Carnahan's term.

This is Senator Talent's first election to a full term for this seat.

No, we elected the corpse's wife, Mrs. Carnahan as senator. The Rats got out the old sympathy vote.

Missouri residents should pass this kind of information, and any other negatives they can dig up to everyone they know in the state via e-mail, and ask them to pass it on to everyone they know. People can bypass the media if they make good use of the e-mail.

I was in Cape a week ago and noted the same but, Cape is a bedrock GOP stronghold, so I did not think it represented a statewide trend.

And the story about her drug dealing now dead ex husband is true!

I know, I was kidding. I well remember the 2000 MO voting fiasco. Democrats need to use ground transportation the week's before important elections.

"LOL, and Talent has control over the price of gas how?? You mean to tell me this idiot will vote for a Democrat who comes from the party that is largely responsible for gas prices being so high with the Clinton era cleaning burning fuel mandates that created 30 different fuel blends, Democrats who regulated refinery building out of existence decades ago and Democrats who constantly resist drilling in ANWR and increasing domestic production elsewhere???"

Well said. Local paper had an article wondering why here in Texas high gas prices *dont* translate into electoral gains for Democrats. Bizarre.

The real reason gas prices are so high is due to economics 101 - supply and demand - high Chinese and global demand in a successfully growing global economy is running up against limits on supply due to 20 years of underinvestment in new oil fields, itself a consequence of 20 years of relatively low prices. To that explanation, Democrats respond: "Economics? who needs it!" And start bashing "Big Oil", a bad thing, not to be confused with Big Labor, Big Law Firms and Big Government, which are all cuddly and harmless.

The Democrat policies have been responsible for high prices to the extant that they diminish domestic energy supply and infrastructure, such as fighting against ANWR, against refinieries, etc. and impose overly restrictive gasoline formulation regulations.

"Sure idiot, vote for Bill Clinton's candidate, McCaskill, the same Bill Clinton who vetoed ANWR drilling in 1996 which if he had not the price of gas would be 50 cents a gallon cheaper now."

Now, we know the secret reason the Democrat do these votes to screw up the economy. The worse the economy, the better it is for Democrats.

REAL good way to add 10% or more to energy prices within 90 days.

Skipped Econ 203, did you? Or flunked, which?

God, if this is the kind of idiocy out there in the country right now, I give up. Voting based on the price of gas

Yeah, why would he ever think that? Republicans control the Presidency and both houses of congress for 12 years and they can't do anything but play with themselves. Instead of getting an energy bill, permanent tax cuts, or anything else, they wasted time attempting to score points with the holier than thou squad over Terri Schiavo and stem cell research, pissing off the vast majority of the country in the process. If Talent loses this fall it's not going to because of gas prices as much as his position on stem cell research.

Didn't they elect a corpse to the Senate a few years ago?

Apparently they felt a corpse would be a better senator than the fool that was made Attorney General and then used drapes to cover up the nudity of the statues at the Justice Department.

ABC-TV is promoting a made for TV film on how "we" failed to stop Bin Laden. Wonder how it will treat the various administrations in the past fifteen years.

I think your numbers are a little off, cant comment on who they are playing with.

A little bit. Controlled house for 12 years. Presidency for six of those. Senate for at least six. More than enough time do do something other than do symbolic votes opposing gay marriage, against flag burning, and ranting about Terri Schiavo and stem cell research.

Even with all the RINO/Dem obstruction, they have passed quite a few tax cuts, got two SCOTUS Conservatives confirmed among other things. Immigration reform may not be where it needs to be, but at least it is being debated openly.
