I have NO dog in this fight. However, I recall a book called the "Fourth Generation" or something. Talks about how there are 4 generations of "types" of people. Due to learning from their parents' mistakes, rebellion, etc. the generations keep revolving.
It said how the generation "xers" are the next "greatest generation" - the "fourth generation" fought WWII, and the "xers" are similar to that group. Very driven, hard working, values oriented, etc. If the country is in good times these values will go to making money, etc. But, if like WWII something prompts their collective will - they will be the "greatest generation" similiar to that of WWII.
The book was written before 9/11. I think the courage and honor that many of our young folks have shown in Afghanistan and Iraq in serving their country certainly deserves MY respect as a baby-boomer.
Interesting. That means the Xers are producing the next generation of us brats, even as we speak.
