"We have to use brute and true "Shock and Awe" tactics against the militias and insurgents and truly lay down the law and damn the consequences. They (Iraqi's) don't give a rats behind about parks and schools they want law and order and we either will instill it or Iran will. It's time to take the shackles off of our armed forces and let them do what they do best (win)."

I hope that "Operation Together Forward" is exactly what you're calling for. The 177 Stryker Brigade, along with the 2nd BCT 10th Mountain (my son's unit)are being sent in to "pacify" the insurgents. I hope they are allowed to do what they do best.

As do I, I am tired of seeing our troops sent into battle with these p.c. rules of engagement crap they lay on them. God Bless your son by the way, and I hope he comes back safe (and with a chestful of medals!).

My sisters friend was over there in 03' and his unit was sent in on one of the first attempts at quelling faluja, and he and some of his buddies were actually reprimanded and disciplined for psyching themselves up for battle by saying some rather unflattering ethnic names about the enemy. What kind of message are telling our soldiers when we tell them to kill the enemy but no name calling. Part of good soldering is training the soldier/marine etc. to not recognize the enemy as human but as an enadamant object I.E. "Target" "Charlie" Etc. not as someone with feelings or a mother, wife, child etc. It's insane.
