This is nothing new. Democrats who are trailing in the polls throughout the country have been doing this.

He should offer to vote for drilling in ANWR so we ALL have a chance at $1.26 gas in the future. BTW, did anybody see what kind of car the candidate drove up in???? Lets check the mileage on that puppy and see how much he really cares about gas prices.

GAS PRICES from 1996 through the present. If you look at the prices, you will see the last time it was around 1.25 was in Mar of '99. Then a steady rise until a period of a few months after 9/11 when Saudi gave us a break to help us recover. This is the period this idiot democrat is using to base his 1.25 on.
France and Germany are now paying around
$3 more per gallon according to this chart.

"It is not illegal to buy votes with money or gifts?"
It's state law. In Minnesota this would be illegal.
To: Proud2BeRight
That question was on my mind, too. Probably depends on who controls the state Gov.

Except that here in California they do have a 7.75% sales tax on each dollar of gasoline sold. This goes along with an 18+ cent gasoline tax for each gallon. Combined with the 15+ cent per gallon fed tax and CA drivers are paying approximately 60 cents per gallon in taxes for $3.00 a gallon gas. It's no wonder that the states revenues for the past year were 14 billion more than projected. What state goverement would want cheap gas when they can use it to increase their revenues?

"Steve Chabot will be busy filling up his coffers with the help of Cheney..."What does Cheney have to do with gasoline prices? I thought Karl Rove was in charge of that department.

Gasoline can be cheap again... lets let down our guard and let 10,000 americans get killed. If you want cheap gas, that will do it.I fail to see the cause and effect.

" Cranley spent $1,700 and probably gained 12 votes " Good,,, I hope that is all the Democrats get.
I hope enough people wake up in this country to the Democrat's tricks and scams.
Now my message to the MSM/LIBS/DEMS:
THE OIL PRICES ARE HIGH BECAUSE OF THE GREENPEACE ENVIROWAKCOS LIBERALS NOT WANTING US TO DRILL OR REFINE OUR OWN OIL HERE IN THE USA AND HAVE US DEPENDANT ON FOREIGN OIL,,,,, IF THE PRICES ARE TO BE BLAMED ON ANYONE IT"S ON THE DEMOCRATS/LIBERALS.
Sorry for my rant FR
No matter how much we tell the liberals for the reason WHY the gas prices are high, they still want the blame the oil companies, president Bush, and the evil republicans.
No, the Liberals/Democrats really don't care about 6 pack Joe and his family, they only care about getting in power again.
Take care

His solution would be mandate $1 gal gas and then subsidize the difference of the true cost with high income taxes.

A competitor for gasoline would bring the price down to $1.35 permanently. We are paying monopoly prices. But the best cure for high prices is high prices.

Another something for nothing promise by the Democrats. Last time I checked THEY were the ones voting against any kind of drilling in ANWR. THEY are the ones owned by the environmentalist lobby.

The only reason gasoline was $1.26 "five years ago" because the economy was in recession, nobody was travelling and nobody was buying gas.
Someone in Government didn't turn the Gas-price-ometerTM to $1.26 so that's was the price.
