You can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater....

Serious question:

What do you do if the theater is on fire?

It's a metaphorical reference to a premise of law...

A prankster yells "fire" in a dark crowded movie house just for the girns & jollies of watching the stampede.

Two are killed and scores are injured in the melee...

The perp is caught... and as his legal defense attempts to hide behind the 1st Amendment... he loses... end of story.

As for your question -- a question in return...

What do you do if the theatre is on fire....
Do you have a legal duty to warn others... or is it ok to simply save your own hide?!?

In other words....
Can you be held accountable in the aftermath if you DON'T yell fire in the crowded theatre that is burning down?

Food for thought...
Have a good day
