I disagree. Please carry on but I have to rest for one of those jobs Americans won't do.

Fortunately President Reagan didn't disagree and buchanan got his walking papers. He's been bitter every since.

Sure. It's time is anytime we aren't within 100 days of an election.

"Sure. It's time is anytime we aren't within 100 days of an election."

On the contrary. That's exactly the time to have this debate. After the election, what do we hold over them? The only power we have is our vote. Now is not the time to shut up. They have to be afraid that we'll stay home or vote 3rd party or nothing will ever change.

If I had my druthers, I'd replace every Congressman and Senator in Washington.

The replacements would be drawn at random from the pool of registered voters who voted in the last election. They would be in the same proportion as the current Republican:Democrat representation in the Congress.

And we would be better served...

Start a movement, I'm in.

This is the first time I've posted a reply in any forum.I am 100% in favor of closing our borders to all illegal immigrants, further more there should be a massive effort to locate and deport all who live in our country illegally. We are after all a nation of laws and the laws apply to all within our borders. When some one calls me a racist for expressing my views it merly means they have no intelligent argument on the subject.

If we had a neutral press, I'd agree with you. But we don't. They are totally sold out to the democratic party and anything that helps them. They would use this to present the republican party as in total chaos.

It’s the question of the decade if not the question of the century: “Why is there such a disconnect between the political class and the people of the United States on the issue of illegal immigration?” The easy answers are that Republicans want cheap labor for their big-business contributors and Democrats see a near-limitless source of new votes.

A very concise presentation of America in the 21st century. The lying thieving politicians that populate both parties, will not think twice about selling this nation and its sovereignity for another term of office.

They show no signs of that yet.

"They are totally sold out to the democratic party and anything that helps them."

I'm not seeing a reason in your response to side with those Republicans who themselves side with the Dems.

"They would use this to present the republican party as in total chaos."

The President could fix that regarding this issue quickly.... Why does he side with Teddy? Why do some other Republicans? The point of voting is not to keep a political party in power and a particular politician employed, but to see that we are represented. Politicians who have forgotten who works for whom need to be fired - even if they are Republicans.

We have to make clear they have to earn our votes, donations, and time with something more than a mere letter behind a name. I will not vote for the lesser of two evils anymore. To continue to do so is a betrayal of my duty as a citizen to *conserve* something of this nation for future generations. As it stands, I will support my *conservative* Republican senators, but I will not donate one thin dime to the RNC. Not until Mehlman is fired and the party leadership stops following the Democrats leftward. Otherwise, what's the point? Why bother standing in line to vote? Just so my "team" can win? That's not what this is all about. That's not what being a citizen is all about.

I will not support the a Rudy Republican party just because they're a little less loathsome than the Democrats. That's a false choice. No Republican senator who supported the McCain amnesty should get support from any conservative ever again. They have to be held to account, or we and this country lose. The media will do what they always do. So will the Democrats. That's no excuse for giving *liberal* Republicans a pass.

The only "divide" is between teh SUPER MINORITY and the SUPERMAJORITY who want immigration treated as a proper security issue.

The only "great divide" exists in the Mediot delusion that somehow their MSM position has not been adopted.

Nevil Chamberlin faced a "great divide" during WWII since he believed the alies could work with Mr. Hitler.

"Good post and a bttt!"

Thanks. I really wonder how anyone can call themselves a "conservative" and yet support this invasion.

There are two critical dimensions to this issue...both rooted in the fact that the American middle-class enjoys power and privilege far beyond that of any other similar class in previous human history.

1. The rule-of-law...adhered to strictly, it deprives the political class of the ability to generate an aristocracy-groups of people with different rights and privileges that can be played out against one another for political gain. This is the politicians' interest in the existence of illegal immigration-and, BTW in affirmative action.

2. Business interest in illegal immigration is more transparent...but to truly appreciate the threat.....we must step back in time over 100 years ago.

In 1885 the labor union movement was started in NYC by Samuel Gompers. While it is true that by the 1950-60's labor unions evolved into more of a social and political liability, at that time they were essential to improving the lot of the average employee in the early industrial era. At that time there were no regulations involving working conditions, hours on the job, child labor, workman's compensation...etc..all that we take for granted today in defining a job was carved out of the effort of the American Labor movement.

In short all the legislative and social controls that keep Americans from being another piece of capital expense to be disposed of when injured or worn out, that empower the average middle-class American far beyond his or her peers in the world market, are short-circuited by illegal immigration.

Make no mistake about it...illegal immigration is THE greatest assault ever on the American Middle-Class...it is two-pronged..stemming from government and big business.
