CNN will mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks by replaying on the Internet the cable network's coverage of that day's events.
Viewers can watch how events unfolded starting at 8:30 a.m., minutes before the first reports of an airplane hitting the World Trade Center. The feed will run in real time, as the network showed it five years ago, until midnight.

I was watching Fox & Friends that morning. In fact, I remember it was fashion week and they were interviewing the wife of singer Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 about something to do with fashion when E.D. broke in a reported the Trade Tower being struck by a plane.
Cool. This time around we'll be able to keep an eye out for all those explosives the government planted under Tower 2.
We were driving through Utah on our way to the Grand Canyon that morning...didn't get to a television until 7:00 p.m. that evening. Have often wished to see how this evolved on cable through the day...thanks for posting this.
I watched a special on TLC(I think) on "Stairway B," it gave me nightmares as well.
I couldn't agree with you more Coop.
If some think it's live coverage of another attack, then it will serve it's purpose. It could well be the wakeup call a large majority of the nation needs.
Its about time. CNN has been sanitizing 9/11 practically since it happened while exagerating Katrina, Jenin, Haditha and anything else which might harm America or its allies.
I missed quite a bit after the 2nd plane hit because we were driving home to Ohio from Baltimore as fast as we could.
We heard about the Pentagon on the radio and drove just south of where the other plane hit on the highway.
Right after 9-11 I bought the book & DVD "Setepmber 11 - A Testimony" put out by CBS...it pretty much takes you through the day. I watch it every year on 9-11..we should never forget; we should never be shielded from the events of that awful day.
Good question. I don't know if any Arabs are on the production crew.
Not much time spent blaming Clinton admin. officials for what they could'a/should'a done. After all, it's CNN.
I'm quite sure they will have a disclaimer splashed all over the screen. But you're right, it could give a few folks a momentary jolt.
Nagin's "hole in the ground?"
I'm afraid many Americans haven't necessarily forgotten, they just don't care about it any more.

I think this is a good idea. A very sad event, but Americans need to be reminded of the serious threat of terrorism and renew their patriotism.
We went to an attorney's office with a TV after the first plane hit. He had just turned his back to the set to tell us we'd have to leave so he could work on a brief when the second plane flew in.
Bravo. Every station should be doing this. There is abundant material from that day that we never get to see. I will be watching, and recording, the feed. We may not get another chance before it is stashed back in the vault because it is too "upsetting".
> We should be unsettled from time to time.
> Never forget!!!
Exactly. We need reminders as to why we should be vigilant for the long fight.
