I hate to stereotype here but in general a liberal white woman will tolerate and overlook more of the black male's indiscretions than a"sister".Most black woman "don't play that"and will call the black man out in an instant where the sympathetic white woman may think"well,I must be understanding.After all,He's a black man trying to make it in a hostile world".
Another seeming paradox is that black nationalists and"Afrocentrists"get more heat from other blacks than they do from whites.As a white guy who loves history,I enjoy talking about Africa and the Black Diaspora but I'm not afraid to correct those who think "Cleopatra was black"and related nonsense.
Most blacks will say."Man,I don't want to hear that black s---".White intellectuals,both liberal and conservative,I find love to engage in a battle of ideas.
I had one boss for a year, interim, who was from Ethiopia and was extremely afrocentric. She always brought speakers to campus who shared her views. An interesting year for sure.
