Surely you jest; 3 minutes is a gross overstatement.
It's loud with uncomfortable, small seats. Only a if you drink too much can you pass out in your seat.
3 minutes of action crammed into 3 hours.
The Mouth of the South, former ATL Braves owner Ted Turner used to fall asleep in the owner's box at "The Ted".
Ex-Jane was often seen busily chatting with their guests and other local dignitaries... & the erstwhile Captain Outrageous was drooling on his epaulets...
I am older (not old) now... myself... I can understand stealing a fighter nap in the top of the inning....
Gotta agree with you on this one. As much as I love the Red Sox, I almost never watch regular season games, and rarely playoff games unless it involves the Sox(or Astros). Even then, I tend to channel surf.
Personally, I despise X42, but I fell asleep during Game 4 of the 2004 Series and missed the Red Sox finally ending the Curse. So I can't point fingers on this one.
Now college baseball is a bit different. Despite the fact they use those ridiculous aluminum bats, it's a more fun atmosphere(though my local school, which I went to, banned ice chests, coolers, and BBQ pits a few years ago--Damn them to Hell for that). Still, going to games back in the early 90's here and the occasional road trip to Baton Rouge for a game against LSU was an experience to remember. But still, it's more fun because usually, it's more down to earth.
Not many could have fallen asleep at that game!
