Pope Benedict (then Cardinal Ratzinger) explained it well when he pointed out that Islam is enslaved to the notion that the Koran came, word-for-word, directly from the mouth of God. There is absolutely no wiggle room in their belief that the world must submit to Islam. Any notion that the Islamic faith has a desire to co-exist peacefully with Judeo-Christian society is pure fantasy. That said, as a Judeo-Christian society, we can't just judge every Islamic person to be a terrorist. For every Christian-in-name-only, there are Muslims who have no use for the wahabbist jihad. Along those lines, however, anyone who is willing to identify theirself as a Muslim needs to either renounce their faith (since they do not follow the tenets), or actively denounce and weed out these scumbags. Either way, it still comes back to the rigidity of the Koran which necessitates the conquest of any non-Islamic land in the name of Allah.

The Islamics have painted themselves into a corner - either they follow the tenets of Islam, which necessitates this jihad, or, in the name of peace, they must declare what we already know to be true - that Islam is a demonic fraud. Either way, it's no longer acceptable to re-iterate the bogus veneer that Islam is a "religion of peace". It's not. It's a religion of the sword. If genuinely peaceable self-described Muslims don't start policing and squelching their own loose cannons, there will be little hope for Western society but to declare the tenets of Islam - as they are laid out in the Koran - a political manifesto along the lines of Naziism, and not a religion to be protected under the various constitutions of the West. Some might say this would be unnecessarily antagonistic and lead to civil unrest - perhaps. But if we allow this cancer to continue to interweave itself into society - as it has in Norway - the battle we face later will be far costlier than anything we confront today.

It pains me to write these things. I'm a peaceful, devout Catholic. I would love for our religions to co-exist peacefully. I'm not judging individual Muslims, who each have inviolable dignity as children of God. But there has been zero evidence whatsoever that the dominant path of Islam leads anywhere but the subjugation of Western civilization. Show me genuine Muslims who will fight for decency and humanity. Show me American Muslims who will march publicly against their firebrand clerics. Where are they? This is their time to stand up and be counted.

Sadly, they will likely remain silent. I hope and pray that mainstream Muslims will come to their senses and realize that their faith is ultimately incompatible with civilized society, and accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah, God made flesh.
