Reminds me of that line from Forrest Gump: stupid is as stupid does, Howie.

Who's the immigrant?
On the same night this week that President Bush appeared at a private fundraiser for Sen. George Allen of Virginia, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean told a national television audience that the embattled Republican doesn't deserve to be a dogcatcher.
"You make him sound like a knucklehead," MSNBC's Chris Matthews said to Mr. Dean, former governor of Vermont.
"I served with George Allen when he was governor," Mr. Dean said. "I don't think he belongs in public service, to be honest with you. There are Republicans who are capable and smart, thoughtful people, and he's not one of them."
The DNC chairman said that Mr. Allen is "always shooting from the hip. He never thinks through what he means, and he caters to the wrong instincts in people. And I think using derogatory terms to people of color is certainly something that a public servant might not do."
Mr. Allen has apologized for calling S.R. Sidarth, 20, a University of Virginia student of Indian ancestry, who has volunteered as a video cameraman for Democratic senatorial candidate James H. Webb Jr., a "macaca" by definition a genus of monkeys and a racial slur in certain cultures.
"This fellow here, over here with the yellow shirt, Macaca, or whatever his name is. He's with my opponent," Mr. Allen told supporters at a campaign stop. "Let's give a welcome to Macaca, here. Welcome to America and the real world of Virginia."
On Wednesday, Mr. Allen, who often is mentioned as a likely presidential contender in 2008, personally telephoned Mr. Sidarth and offered what his campaign described as a "heartfelt apology."
Meanwhile, the extent of any damage to Mr. Allen's re-election campaign (he previously enjoyed a wide lead over his opponent) remains to be seen, although his remarks have not gone unnoticed by major newspapers across the Old Dominion.
In Norfolk, editors of the Virginian-Pilot wrote: "The irony here is that Allen is a transplanted Californian, a Virginian by the accident of his famous father's profession. Sidarth was born here. In other words, Sidarth is the native Virginian; Allen is the immigrant."
Isn't that rich? Howie the Screamer trying to tell people that George Allen shoots from the hip and doesn't 'think through what he means.' That just drips with irony, doesn't it? Speaking of people who don't belong in public service...oh, that's right, Howie isn't in public service any longer.
It's a tried and tested Rat tactic. They said the same things about President Reagan. Yet, the public didn't fall for it.
Keep it up, Dean. You're going to help rehabilitate Allen in no time.
Allen is not going to lose his seat.
That does it. Allen is high on my radar screen.
Just to set the FR record straight- HoDe was doing well in NH until, about two weeks before the primary, the Clintonoids started a whispering campaign about his wife, Judy. In classic Sid Vicious style, they followed this with a leak that HoDe took antidepressants and was unstable.
The "attack" on Judy Steinberg, who is not a political person, followed by the "Crazy Howie" meme, did not, shall we say, bring out the best in Governor Dean.
And the best part is that the Clintons were only involved for about ten days, and vanished - so their role in bumping off HoDe is lost to history.
JMHO.
I believe you're right about so much of your analysis. I live in Iowa and am having a hard time deciding. Conservatives must get coalesced around a candidate. A poll released this week in Iowa says that among likely caucus goers, Giuliani is first, McCain second and Frist third. Somehow, I just can't accept the results of this poll. Iowa caucus goers are conservative people and will not go for this group.
Agreed.
Jim,
I live in Virginia and have watched Senator Allen up close for quite a while. He is not a phony. You are wrong about him and your post smacks of character assassination. You call him a phony without offering any substantiation. Why?
Of course, i would expect no less from a rudy fan. After all, why don't we all want a pro gay pro illegal pro gun control pro aff action anti school voucher adulterous rino as our candidate?
Look at his tagline
You raise a good point; I should've looked at his tag line before replying. However, this guy broke President Reagan's cardinal rule of politics: thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.
That rule is going to be broken a lot for the 2008 primary.
