But undocumented aliens can get legal drivers licenses in NC.... just silly.
I recently moved to North Carolina and attempted to get a driver's license. I had both my social security card and my Kentucky license with me, but was told by the administration they would need either a passport or a birth certificate to prove what my middle initial (which appeared on both the license and the card) stood for.
Compare that hassle to the twenty or so Mexicans in the office with me. I'd wager most of them didn't even have a single piece of identification.
