The operant goal of this study was to arrive at the following conclusion (at the end of the article) because the reason for this study was to search how the medication achieves contraception and to eliminate implantation prevention as a mechanism for this product: "In addition, this study does not support an anti-implantation contraceptive effect of LNG in EC; however, additional targets, besides those described herein, should also be considered and further investigated for the contraceptive effects of LNG." As stated, the study does not address other possible means by which this hormonal bolus prevents a pregnancy being achieved.
