The Great Ambulance Hoax: All your fakes are belong to us (The MSM busted again)

***updated with MSM contact info below...Dan Riehl follows up with observations about the ambulance license plates...Related: Daniel Freedman on Hezbollah's helpers at the Red Cross***

Take a good look at these three images of Red Cross ambulances in Lebanon, supposedly deliberately targeted by Israel, and broadcast worldwide by the MSM last month:

On August 6, I linked to Dan Riehl's excellent post raising questions and doubts (his initial post here) about the alleged missile targeting by Israel of the Red Cross ambulances. Infinitives Unsplit first called attention to the dubious ambulance claims on July 27.

Now, Internet documentarian and photojournalist Zombie has compiled a damning, in-depth report on the ambulance claims that the MSM swallowed whole: "The Red Cross Ambulance Incident: How the Media Legitimized an Anti-Israel Hoax and Changed the Course of a War." The intro:

On the night of July 23, 2006, an Israeli aircraft intentionally fired missiles at and struck two Lebanese Red Cross ambulances performing rescue operations, causing huge explosions that injured everyone inside the vehicles. Or so says the global media, including Time magazine, the BBC, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and thousands of other outlets around the world. If true, the incident would have been an egregious and indefensible violation of the Geneva Convention, and would constitute a war crime committed by the state of Israel.

But there's one problem: It never happened.

Well, I'll just say that they mocked the participation of the coalition of the willing (meaning no France) by pointing out that Bulgaria and Albania and El Salvador were hardly worthy to be listed as useful allies. Showing once again, that it is only those who oppose us, not the relative wealth that counts.

But disagree we shall.

You're acting as if they have any intellectual consistency when it came to the coalition. All they cared about there was that France wasn't with us. In every story where they need to prove how evil we are they will gladly say El Salvador or anyone else is against us.

If Israel were a poor nation, the libs would give about as much coverage to that conflict as they do to the numerous wars in Africa, namely an occassional front page photo and then a bunch of articles deep in the world news section, but never making them a priority.

The intellectual consistency is this: Rich or poor or middling, as long as they are hostile to the United States or our allies, they get the full throated media support and deceptions. If it was Israel agains the Kuwait, it would be the same way, and the Kuwaitis aren't poor. And neither is hezbollah, apparently.

It's totally automatic.
There's no way to control it.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited,
whereas imagination embraces the entire world,
stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.

Thanks for the link. It was hilarious to see Green Helmet Guy in on the ambulance incident too!

I also couldn't believe the blatant anti-Israeli propaganda from ITV during that "report". How sickening.

He was an odd duck.

You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. - Albert Einstein

I think it's the variegation in it that makes you think that more. A dark area moving around one side may make it look off center.

It's fine!
