I flew from LHR-DFW last week in the midst of this madness....worst dang flight...everyone was looking at each other. IF anyone went to the lavatory...there was a tense silence...
You asked about names on the NW flight. As I surmised, Muhammad was part of of six of the names. One twice.

If one picked 12 passengers at random off a plane leaving Amsterdam on any particularly day, I wonder what the chances of none having a Van in the last name would be?

Fox reported they were arrested and being questioned about "suspicious cell phone usage", that seems to indicate that there was some seriousness to the situation to me!
"C'mon, airlines, forget the political correctness--this is a bottom line, business decision, not 'hate' crimes--profile passengers *before* they board the airplanes!!"
The problem is, when they do, the FAA fines them for doing so! They're in a no-win situation, courtesy of the US Government. What a surprise.
