I did read the entire article, and I saw those two facts. By themselves, there is still a possibility (not much of one, admittedly) that the whole thing is a more-or-less innocent mistake. What was the apology for? "I'm sorry that I unintentionally embarrassed your children" is way different than "I'm sorry for being a racist POS."
Again, I don't have much hope that it's an innocent screw up, but it's just hard to believe that anyone would be that much of a moron in this day and age.
More like, "My lawyer says I have to apologize if I even want the chance to keep my job, so I'm sorry that you're black."
Some people have issues, and if this incident happened as reported, then this particular person obviously has lots of issues.
