Agreed, the incidents are intentional. Probing of defenses, war games, dry runs, call them what you like. Perhaps even a coordinated attempt to ruin the airline industry without even perpetrating attacks.

Becha this was the immediate goal. Bet the bad guys had a layoff man or two taking notes on numbers, tactics, weapons etc. as well.

Absolutely! Why bother to mount an attack if you can slowly destroy the industry with false alarms. Just imagine how much it cost the airline to handle this 'incident'.
I say it's time to get tough with airline security. No more taking the word of the passenger that they are on a legitimate trip and intend no harm to the flight. I say it's time we start making everyone have a note from their mommy saying why they are flying somewhere. Can't be too careful!
