Don't you know that if Chaffee loses, the media will be quick to spin it as the Republican version of Lamont/Lieberman. Heck, I saw one of the Big Three trying to do it shortly before the CT primary.

I think AP? actually was caught running a story about Chafee's defeat and had to withdraw it. LOL

But, really, they've already tried to spin Murkowski losing in Alaska and the incumbent Congressman that went down to a conservative. Neither one of those have stuck.

One could argue that's because they aren't big names outside of their geographical areas.

Okay, true enough. Chafee has more name recognition then they do. Though nothing near leiberman. And when people do recognize him, they recognize him as the Liberal Republicans that always bashes Republicans.

Whereas, they recognize Lieberman as the Democrat Vice presidential candidate in 2000 that most of them liked more then Gore and Bush. I still remember how most people I spoke to, myself included, actually liked Leiberman and Cheney more in 2000 after the debates and a lot of people ventured the wish they actually be the joint ticket. There was argument over who should be Prez and who should be VP based on idealogy though..LOL

I just don't think the memo is going to sell as the Libs wish. They'll try it, it won't be successful.
