Air travel: I wouldn't want to be in that business. Us Americans are always looking for the bargain basement price for our travel but I for one feel for these airline industries.
With fuel price increases, increased mandates on security screening, and new mandatory flight technology, not to mention "unions", these people have got to raise prices or go bust.
That said, I can't afford to leave the State of Alaska because a 1 1/2 hr flight south is $750.00. Its quite a conundrum.

these people have got to raise prices or go bust. Don't worry. The government will bail them out.

If you're anywhere near Anchorage, check out Frontier Airlines. They "hub" out of Denver, and they're showing GREAT prices for the Chicago-Denver loop these days. (We live in the Chicago area.)

I'm in the industry... for now. It hasn't been easy.
