StoneWall, you don't have to convince me...Newt's my number one candidate for the time being. The problem is because of the other issues that "get in the way"--the extra-marital affair which WAS pretty tawdry, and the political dalliance with Hillary(?) he's made enemies on this thread that I don't know that we can get past. I'm comfortable with Newt or Rudy. I have to hold my nose on some of Rudy's social views, particularly the civil union issue, but his judicial philosophy is as conservative as the President's. I'm not comfortable with Romney, McCain, Hegel-the-rat; and I don't think Allen has a chance...
Have liked Newt since I watched his telecourse way back when.
Since Newt opined that hilaryclinton knows more about health care than anyone else in the country, I could never trust his judgment on any issue.
