Most people in America are also in debt up to their eyeballs, live paycheck to paycheck, and have an easier time identifying the seven dwarves than they do identifying the members of the Supreme Court.
So why should anyone give a rip how most of America "feels" about anything? I sure don't.
Especially if they're not likely voters...
So what you're saying is we live in a modern serfdom?
Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose?
I prefer the "many also think Elvis is still alive" analogy...
;-)
Cause they vote. If you don't give a rip, they will vote your people out of town. Part of leadership is communicating a message and leading. The attitude you articulate is as bad as the most nauseating libs who get power and go berserk with it, people be damned.
I agree with your comment, 100%. The long run of the book, The DaVinci Code, is what sealed it for me. I think that it's really scary that so many Americans not only found the book interesting, but actually believed that it was nonfiction. I am just resigned to the fact that the American public is just not very bright, or well educated.
