I don't believe for one minute that GWB and most of the population are clueless.
I don't know about the President and Congress, but I know a lot of people who know but it's not in their backyard (yet), and they just don't care (yet).
Look, I have no problem with PB, or his article, I'm just saying, it's not a new thing. People know. Congress knows, the President knows IMO. I'm glad PB says it, I'm just saying, it's "stating the obvious."

I semi-disagree with you. W is certainly not clueless. But most of the country is. Ask one hundred people what year 9-11 happened, and 70% will be wrong. Ask 100 people who Dick Cheney is, and half don't know. Only 24% of the population know what the three branches of government are. The list is endless...
BTW, I'm not a Buchanan ffan, but he makes a lot of sense on this, our country's, immigration problem.
