Re: "not obvious to George Bush or the Republicans in Senate"
Re: "there are people in this country who are clueless"
Just because other people disagree with you on what to do about a situation does not mean that the situation is not obvious to them, or that they are clueless.
Both the pro and anti illegal sides are coalitions of strange bedfellows. One aspect of that strangeness is that some on both sides know the facts and intentionally try to lie and deceive others. Other strange bedfellows on each side truly do not know the facts and are easily snookered into illogical reasons for their position. Yet, on both sides there are others who are both honest and knowledgeable about the situation.
Two "easily snookered" situations on the anti-illegal side disturb me. In our society, the way the anti-illegal debate is framed is for the most part controlled by the "smart growth/population control/anti-life" elitists. It disturbs me that too many people who claim to be pro-life are snookered into anti-life arguments on the anti-illegal side.
It disturbs me that too many anti-illegals who claim to be "small government conservatives" take a big government that if we throw enough money and manpower at a problem, we can solve it.
On the pro-illegal side it disturbs me that the socialists seek to prevent free market economics and upward mobility of the illegals. They agree with the anti-illegals that big government is the solution. They just think Lolita Falani (Pat Buchanan's Commie running mate) should be in control of that big government rather than Pat Buchanan.
Did I say anything about disagreeing with anyone? It is amazing how you can make that assumption. Are you a soothsayer, the Amazing Kreskin, or Carnac?
I'm sorry you are so, to use your verb, "disturbed"
