>>>Sorry, but I've come across several evangelicals who think Kennedy is smarmy and frequently engages in deep intellectual dishonesty.<<<
Kennedy has proven to me to be thorough on every subject he preaches. I have never heard him rely exclusively on his own knowledge of a subject, but rather to defer to outside experts for verification or clarification. He is very knowledgable on the religion of the Founding Fathers, and on evolution.
Frankly, this hit piece by Abe Foxman is nothing new. He hates Christians, and he hates the notion that this is a Christian nation.
Then you've been conned.
He is very knowledgable on the religion of the Founding Fathers
He is also a purveyor of patent falsehoods regarding the Founding Fathers, using the fabricated quotes deployed by David Barton of "Wallbuilders", and making up tales out of whole cloth to support his poorly disguised contention that the U.S. was founded as a Christian theocracy. The man is a fraud.
I do not think this is your intent, but such a statement sounds very close indeed to "No non-Christians allowed."
Is being Christian, in your view, a necessary condition of being a good American?
No, I didn't think it was. But you expose yourself to that kind of misinterpretation
