This Aug. 12, 2006 IKONOS satellite image provided by GeoEye on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 purports to show the Natanz nuclear facility in Iran. Iran's unprecedented refusal to allow access to its underground facility at Natanz could seriously hamper U.N. attempts to ensure Tehran is not trying to produce nuclear weapons, and might violate the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, diplomats and U.N. officials told The Associated Press. Then forget all talk. It's nothing but a stall anyway.

unwilling to abandon nuclear enrichment — the key U.S. demand.

It's not just the U.S. demanding the termination of uranium enrichment, but this way the AP can frame it as a United States vs. Iran issue.

G-d help whichever party is in power when an American city is destroyed by an Islamic nuke. I'm talking angry mobs pulling politicians from their homes and lynching them.

While I don't see any reason why Iran should not develop a nukular power industry and electrical utility, at the same time they should not be surprised if they make somebody anxious with their nuke bomb intent and get nuked themselves out of the blue some morning.

I think we should give them lots of enriched nuclear material...

I would say an airburst at 20,000 feet will work nicely.

Gee, I thought for sure Ahmadinejad (A.K.A. Nutjob) was going to announce the reallocation of his nuclear program funds to go toward feeding starving children in Africa. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't bank on a career in forecasting.

We are screwed. Our "key" demand doesnt mean crap. We need to back away from the UNSC and go with a coaltion of the willing, if there is a coalition out there.

UNSC is EVIL

I would have had the birds in the area ladened with cruise missiles. Once the report was released on their refusal, they would have already been in the air heading to their facilities. No invasion, no mass bombing, just surgical annihilation of their capabilities. I would then call up the rest of the reserves,..and wait. This would be the result of their decision for a "new formula." Other islamic nations would take note. To allow this to continue is Germany in 1939. At least Iran has the guts to announce to the world their intent to destroy us and Israel. The other islamic nations just want our dollars ala the gas pump.

If I close my eyes, it's 1994 all over again. Damn, you would think we had learned something...anything from our experience with N. Korea.
