I have a friend that married an engineer from Venezuala and has a whole bunch of "hispanic" children.
They are just like you and I except one of them is graduating from college here at 19 with two degrees. The government considers them hispanic but I can tell you they don't think of themselves that way.
Of course they have pride in their heritage but they are 100% pure conservative Americans. They are not trying to recreate Latin America up here. Their father left there for a reason, and he reminds the kids of that every day.
I married a Cuban woman. Best person I ever met. Period. Her father did two years in a prison camp to get his family out of Cuba in the 60's. He worked three jobs and did whatever it took to put his kids through school. My brother-in-law graduated from Penn and Wharton. I'd put her family up against any other family I ever met for being true conservatives, patriots, hard working, moral, and just plain decent folk.
The term "hispanic" is quite misleading.
