Currently, the Nat'l Guard they have down there relieving the Border Patrol are UNARMED, ergo they require physical protection, many times from the individual BP they were sent to relieve in the first place.

This is called, "nanny patrol" by the BP.

I think about 1/2 of the new money should go to ammo, mines, and Predator aircraft.

And the rules of engagement should be changed totally --BP and NG should operate under the ASSUMPTION that whoever they're chasing are AL QAEDA COMBATANTS.

Not exactly, the NG troops on the border have their M-16 with them, they have loaded mags in pouches, but not in the M-16. The BP is responsible for their protection, just as they are responsible for the safety of Border Watch groups, if they are notified the civilian group is on the Border.
