I quite agree with you. But I thought the writer's thinking extraordinarily "innovative" because he had wandered so far into the woods in order to find a premise that supported his prediliction.
It's not often you see people go from A to B via H, M and T. Especially if they already lived in B...
The author is not talking about the Islamofascists per se. He is talking about the mainstream, even the secularists. I must disagree with you, the author is correct. They cannot agree to a partition because that would end their claims to all of Israel. Simple. Whether they wish to win by military means, or by demographic means e.g. the stages plan is immaterial to the point. They will never agree to partition - they must be forced into it if its going to happen at all.
