"It's August, and posters getting all excited about the downfall of Allen is very premature."
When two polls taken within a few days of each other both show almost identical results I tend to take them seriously. The fact is that both Rasmussen and Survey USA are highly accurate, reliable polling companies. I don't think Allen will lose, but he can't make another gaffe like this. This race was his to lose, and now it's going to be quite close (probably about a 5-7 point margin). While we will keep the seat, VA will now draw valuable resources out of places where they are more needed, like MO, NJ, MT, WA, etc...
So you're seriously worried about two August polls showing Allen winning comfortably, combined with his staggering warchest in a GOP-friendly state? LOL. I'm more worried about the world ending today when I've yet to make love to Anna Kournikova!
You're likely correct there, but it's going to draw DEM resources, not GOP resources.
We'll keep the seat. The continued focus on VA by the Dems will cause them to lose in states like MO, NJ, MT and WA. They did it in 2002, and it looks as if they're setting themselves up to repeat.
