That is a great reason to have a noose. Did not think of that. I think Senator Allen should use that when he is questioned. That is awesome!
To: Corin Stormhands
Thank you for that explanation. It makes perfect sense. Also, Coop said that he is using it for Sadam!!! Ya!!!

Sorry, George. Webb is gonna win because of your macaca ka-ka!

As I recall, and correct me if I did not remember right, Bunning made an ethnic slur against the Democrat who nearly beat him. And of course KY was once part of VA.

He did, but his behavior leading up to the election also included avoiding public appearances and staging a debate in a way that reinforced rumors that his mind is not what it was. He wasn't done in by a single gaffe, but by a collective impression that he was no longer "there" that he was not able to counter. He won mainly because his candidate was an unknown and because Kentuckians would rather have had a solid vote for a conservative agenda than a Democrat senator.
Allen, meanwhile, is still a talented politician who can campaign his way through to the end.
I'm curious if anyone knows more about Senator Bunning... I would guess his office is being run much like Strom Thurmond's, with trusted staff making important decisions in the way Bunning would have voted.

He will probably win his Senate seat. But what he did was so stupid he has probably hurt his chance to be a presidential candidate.

They will jump on anything because they were looking to make up an offense because they are slime.

As a poll junkie, I generally consider Survey USA and Rasmussen to be among the most reliable (with Zogby having about the accuracy as making something up). On their site, you can check their election track record and its pretty good.I don't trust polls in mid-August. It's summer and the last thing anyone wants is some pinhead polltaker disrupting their summer vacation. The only people who respond to these polls are people who have nothing better to do than answer the questions.

Oh, did you know Sidarth is a journalist? Surely they revealed that he's a senior writer for the UVA newspaper. I surely didn't know that. Interesting.
I just know the left is giddy as hell knowing we're all piling on Allen over such stupidity.

While we will keep the seat, VA will now draw valuable resources out of places where they are more needed, like MO, NJ, MT, WA, etc...We'll keep the seat. The continued focus on VA by the Dems will cause them to lose in states like MO, NJ, MT and WA. They did it in 2002, and it looks as if they're setting themselves up to repeat.

Im not trying to deduce why the man said what he did. Im just saying its in poor taste. I dont think Allen is a racist, just he should have known better than to give something his opposition can jump on like this..If they had real issues to run on, they wouldn't need to jump on this non-issue. The fact that they have jumped on this non-issue is revealing of just how vacant of any agenda the left is.

How many libs and Dems refer to Bush as "the Chimp?" Only now do we see that a not-at-all-clear reference to what may have been a monkey is offensive, whereas calling the President a chimp is not.
Still, the rules are that Republicans can do no wrong in the MSM, and unfortunately Allen fell into the trap of making ANY remark that could be used against him by people who are looking hard for one.
I hope he handles it well, and recovers.
Hillary's Gandhi comment - certainly not ambiguous - needs to be played over and over in every Indian community in 2008.

I don't trust polls in mid-August. Most politicians know that three months is an eternity in politics. Public support/sentiment can change on a dime. It's another reason to hate the media. They put us through this polling crap for far too long....

Most politicians know that three months is an eternity in politics.Exactly. I've said that to people who get worried or scared when a politician loses a little ground in a media poll, and that most people who have no interest in following politics day in and day out aren't even paying attention to or give a whit to all the nuances of politics.
Public support/sentiment can change on a dime.
Absolutely. It can change either way. Alot can happen between now and November.
I generally don't trust polls because the media makes them front page headlines with it's own frontpage story, when it fits their agenda, and the effect of which is to depress GOP voter turnout.
