No, I would be voting for another liberal Democrat with a (R) after his name.

Tommy Dale sets another Rudyphile straight in one of the most outstanding posts I have seen today.

TommyDale to jakethegoose: Do you think for a nanosecond that Rudy Giuliani is the only person who can lead? What a poor example, if that is the best we can come up with. Those issues are what is important to most people in the South and Midwest.... Southern and Midwestern conservatives will not vote for the candidates who stand against them on the issues:

Abortion
Partial Birth Abortion
Higher Taxes
Gun Control and/or Confiscation
Religious issues
Homosexual Agenda
School Vouchers
Illegal Invaders and/or Immigrants Amnesty

..... IN ADDITION to national security.

This is not a time to give the country over to the liberals. Giuliani IS A LIBERAL!

Exactly. Lindsey might vote the right way in terms of actually going to war, but his constant whining about Abu Graib which did NOT involve torture but rather humiliation, was not helpful.

Lindsey is too PC for my tastes and typically takes the democrat position and demeans the administration on all the Sunday talk shows.

Where is the white knight conservative???

Purged. Serious advocates of freedom are not welcomed in the Republican party. The conservatism that we knew from 1964-1995 no longer exists as a political force.

Rudy can stay the he11 outta South Carolina. Take his liberal, "I love queers, I love abortion," social agenda and STAY OUT! PS to Rudy: And take Pandsey Graham with you!

Sure hope Rudy heard that loud and clear.

If Rudy gets the GOP nomination, I fear a third party candidate from the right. Possibly McCain. This would splinter the vote and possibly allow Hillary to slip in. Heaven forbid.

I don't think winning the WOT and having a social conservative in the WH are mutually exclusive. I want both, and at this stage that is how I will fight.

If Rudy wins the primary, then I can't think of a Democrap I would vote for over him (other than Zell Miller). But we are not there yet, and I don't consider him to be our best option.

Giuliani has to tone down his liberal social views, it is very difficult to see him elected if he does not do so, what may be appreciated in New york cocktail parties would be the same in the South/Mid west. But he is much better than Mccain who is a RINO and does not even care about the Republican party.

I must admit - the nickname is embarrasing.

6 years ago I was attacked by a goose at a golf course. I responded by swinging my putter - and literally knocked the things head right off its neck. The damn thing ran around with no head for 5 minutes.

Jake - became - Jake the Goose.

It opens me to a lot of abuse - I love it.

I agree completely, I don't think Rudy could win here in SC, nor can McCain. I'm not sure who I would vote for at this point, but if either of these two win the GOP primary, I'm afraid we'll lose the White house. We need a strong conservative who will support the basic tenets of the Republic Party, some of which are on your list. But it also includes strong defense. The right guy is out there, we just need to find him.

He really should have run against Hillary for the Senate this year.

He was never interested in being a Senator, or he wouldn't have ducked her in 2000. If he wanted to be an executive, he should have opposed Spitzer this year for governor. I believe he can only go to D.C. as an appointee.

RUdy should change parties and run as a Democrat.

That would bunch up Hillary's bloomers.

A strong defense wasn't on my original list, because I think we all agree 100% that we need to win the War on Terrorism.
