Does the helmet cover break up the shape of the helmet in order to camouflage the soldier?

What is it for, specifically?

Helmet covers serve several purposes. 1. Can be changed quickly to a color/pattern that matches the terrain you are heading into. 2. Cloth is quieter when brush is dragging across it. 3. Slits in cover will hold small plants as added camouflage. 4. Protects the paint on the Kevlar helmet. 5. Better to wipe your nose on then the hard helmet. 6. Enables soldier/marine to felt tip obscene names and slogans onto cover and then replace it with a new one when NCO or Officer spots his artwork.
