Buchanan is Catholic. To my knowledge, he is not a racist. Some of his statements regarding Israel have been hostile toward the Jewish state. After a few too many drinks, he may, like Mel Gibson, blame the Jews for all the wars.

1. Buchanan is a Catholic of Irish and German decent.
2. This country was basically built by WASPS and Scotch-Irish Protestants. Take a good look at the Founding Fathers and most of our political leaders until the 1930's.
