I wrote him a fairly scathing email a few weeks ago when he was mouthing off about President Bush needing to demand that Israel cease fire. I'm surprised, and yet not, that I didn't get a nasty response from his office, given the tone of my email.
Hagel is right, but he's not the one to say it. As someone just asked on this thread, what has he ever done about this? Even more important, he's the kind of guy who gets pulled along by the Rats. The longer Hagel is in the Senate, I predict, the worse he will get.
Also, this isn't the time to say it. Our majorities in both houses are hanging by a thread. There are big differences between the parties, even on the size (especially the power) of the federal government. If we lose, the cause loses even worse than it has under partial GOP control.
