Pleased to meet ya "in" . . . I'm Hope . . . ;-)
ooooooohhhh, You're Good!LOL!
{{{Hope}}} Hand over heart & prayers up!
Ever wonder how they get them there aeroplanes off of a carrier. Other than shoving then over the side that is!!!
Tonight I will have a series of shots of the F/A-18 Hornet depicting, more or less, a catapult launch. On with the pics...
First up the mandatory head on pic.
Next a close up of a Hornet hooked to the cat with the JBD, or Jet Blast Deflector raised into position. Note the Hornet in flight off the waist cat :-)
Here we are at the end of the cat, the Hornet should be doing in the neighbor hood of about 150mph plus by now, BTW it's only been about 2 seconds since the launch officer pushed the go button.
Here we are allllllmost airborne
If all goes well the Hornet is airborne. Quick work by the cat crews gets two Hornets in the air at virtually the same time.
Artsy bonus pic just because I can....
Y'all have a great weekend
Regards
