I came back from a party a little while ago, but I can't sleep.

I can't help but laugh at some of the responses here. I'm attracted to manners and intellect. But there's something extraordinary about good manners – such a simple thing – and yet, powerful enough to bring out the best in us.

I'm always nice to people and they are usually nice to me. However, there are some who seem to run away, hide and even gossip without ever trying to talk to me. Should I care about that? I don't think so. I'm a happy person, and I like to keep that way.

I avoid negativity, because negativity attracts more of the same. I like to surround myself with positive, smart, good hearted people. I like to laugh, but I also like serious conversations as well - so it's hard for me to care about shallow, reality-impaired individuals; and frankly, my dear, I couldn't care less about what those who have developed a case of rectal cranial inversion say about me, LOL.

Anyway, a man with manners, is a man worth knowing.

Great post and an extra great point! This is one of the great lessons of life, and it amazes me how many people just never seem to 'get it.'
