Your post is interesting to me as it addresses something I've wondered about. Mexico has all of the natural resources that the US has and should be it's own version of California and other desirable US states. It seems to me that there should be a reverse flow of Mexicans who would take their personal knowledge of the way capitalism raises all boats back to their homeland for the benefit of themselves and their countrymen. Your socialist government is of course the cause of the flight to the US and I think it is only a matter of time before enough Mexicans returning to Mexico gather the necessary strength of numbers to change the political landscape in your country. Giving people of any nationality a good taste of freedom and the experience of living in a society that rewards personal endeavor will forever impact their thinking. I also wonder what impact the truly huge outflow of your younger citizens is having on your country and it's future. I visited your country years ago and it is beautiful. We heeded warnings from others who had personal experience about the institutionalized corruption of the police and govt employees and stirred clear of same. We have fond memories of the Mexico then and her people.

I was in Cozumel this last December, and I did some diving as an excursion. Everyone I came into contact with was warm and friendly including anyone I casually came into contact with. Mexican people are good people, and they are a welcome ethnicity to our melting pot of a country, but only when done in the framework of existing immigration laws. Both sides of my family were immigrants in the early part of the 20th century, so I welcome new immigrants. While Hispanics should be very proud of their heritage, they must understand that complete immersion in our language and culture is central to our homology as the melting pot nation. To do otherwise undermines our ability to speak as one people.

Spelling on next to last sentence should be 'steered' instead of stirred. Spell check doesn't work for the wrong word!!
